October 11, 2011: Two projects namely

  1. Governance Support Project for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA and
  2. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA Economic Revitalization Project

have now entered the implementation phase

after the projects grant and project agreements were signed into effect by Secretary, Economic Affairs Division, Mr. Abdul Wajid Rana, and World Bank representative, Mr. Naseer Ahmad Rana. signing-cermony-at-ead-006
  1. The US$ 20 million Economic Revitalization Project aims to support creation of employment opportunities and sustainable jobs for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA, thereby addressing the core strategic objective of stimulating employment and livelihood opportunities, as highlighted in the 2010 Post Crisis Needs Assessment (PCNA) Report.
  2. While the US$ 6 million Governance Support Project is to improve the delivery efficiency of the PCNA program through institutional strengthening and support to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA line departments, while, in parallel, responding to priority needs defined under the PCNA governance program.
With the above two projects, the total number of signed MDTF Financed projects is now at three representing a total value of US $ 34 million.
